Born in Wilson, North Carolina and raised in Raleigh, Amy attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving a B.A. in History and Political Science.  She received her J.D. from the University of Wyoming, College of Law.  After law school, Amy returned to Raleigh and was admitted to the State Bar of North Carolina and began working in real estate.  Amy is a licensed Title Insurance Agent in North Carolina and Virginia.  She is also in the Real Property Section of the NC Bar Association and an active member of the Junior League of Raleigh..
